We are here to serve as advocates

The Gavilan College Educational Foundation’s Mission is to serve as advocates for Gavilan College and to seek additional financial resources for college services to meet the needs of its faculty, students and services. The foundation is a vital piece of the educational experience provided by the Joint Community College District. Where state funding may fall short, we fill the gaps and provide financial resources to educators and students, and work to ensure that all those who see higher education have the resources to do so. We do this in collaboration with our generous supporters and community partners.

Gavilan College Foundation Building on a Century of Educational Excellence

Established in 1994, the Gavilan College Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the mission of Gavilan College, a respected institution that proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019. This centennial milestone marked a century of empowering students, strengthening communities, and shaping futures through accessible, quality education.

The Foundation was established to ensure this legacy continues to thrive. Through the generosity of donors, faculty, alumni, and community partners, the Foundation supports a wide range of initiatives that elevate the student experience and academic achievement, including:

Student Basic Needs and Scholarships – Making higher education attainable for students from all diverse backgrounds.

Educational, Co-Curricular and Leadership Programs – Fostering innovation, creativity, and critical thinking.

Faculty and Student Body Support – Enhancing teaching excellence and academic leadership.
